He also said for those who have not heard of remote working before perhaps you have heard that sounds. Telecommuting or Teleworker referring to somebody whom negation works from his house. [00:00:53] Speaker 2: There are many more comparisons like this in real life Nicholas Bloom who is a professor of Economics at Stanford University. Give a today's presentation as well. He also states that for many of us who perhaps have never worked remotely yet telecommuting looks suspicious to say the least. Mr. Nicholas mentioned there were a lot of sketchy AdWords about earning $1000 while doing practically nothing at all. And this is how his work was usually seen by his friends and family before doing nothing at all.
You say well that probably makes sense at the end of the 20th century. But today is situation is different many of the Fortune 500 companies including IBM and [unintelligible 00:01:46] Amazon have already set a remote working environment. Also considering the fact that many people do not have any other choice for now because of this [unintelligible 00:02:00] Pandemic happening all around the Globe. Remote work will thrive even more in the next few years. "How to work and manage your remoting effectively?"
This was the main question in the article said that promote workers to thrive and you can find a free version of it on MIT Sloan management review published in 2009. Jmo key and others believe that finding a good work-life balance can be problematic while working remotely tell the workers also find that this part and has quite an opposite effect. Meaning they sometimes work longer hours and have less time for personal life also researchers believe there are many other issues such as work with isolation lack of visibility as well as face-to-face communication. Yes, I may agree with this to some extent there are challenges.
However, every lifestyle has its advantages and disadvantages I could talk about the advantages for hours. So for me the process of the pros outweighs the cons. First of all, you can travel whenever you want. Well, that may not be that much relevant nowadays, but being location independent also means I can work in my backyard. Mr. Commuting to work every single day this I have more time for reading books and doing things.
I love if I plan my day accordingly. Also, I feel personally I feel I'm productive and can do most of my work from 3 AM To 9 AM. That is if I wake up to my alarm, of course,[laughs] which office environment will give you such options other a lot of places like [00:04:00] this, especially because premium is still night time in most of the countries.
